Dermatitis or seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp is characterised by dandruff of varying thickness and greasyness and red patches along with intense itching. These clinical symptoms on the scalp may also be present on the face and/or torso. In this case, it is the redness that comes with small scales that is the most annoying. The condition is not serious, but its chronic development and its visibility can impact on quality of life.
