(1) Result of a clinical study conducted on 33 adults from 19-70 years old with mild to moderate atopic or contact eyelid eczema. Dexyane MeD was applied twice a day to the eyelids for 22 days. The clinical severity score (including itching, burning, tightness, etc.) from 0 to 9, immediately after 3 days of application, was compared to the pre-application scores. Immediately, the itching score significantly decreased, and the burning score improved by day 3. (2) The overall development of lesions was evaluated by the PGA score on a 5-point scale: 0 (aggravation) to 4 (completely healed); after 3 days of application, the majority of patients felt an improvement. - Eczema is a common skin disease that can affect babies, children and adults. It is characterized by the formation of skin lesions (redness, vesicles and scabs) marked by flare-ups and intense skin dryness. Pain and itching is sometimes intense and can disrupt the daily lives of eczema patients.
- Eyelid eczema: This area is frequently affected by eczema because the skin on the eyelids is very fine and therefore easier for irritants and allergens to penetrate. It predominantly affects women. The main cause is allergic reactions, caused via direct contact (application of cosmetics, eyedrops, etc.), via hands (nail polish, etc.), or via airways (sprays, fragrances, etc.). It can also be caused by irritants (irritating, harsh products, etc.), and atopy.
- Eyelid eczema damages self-esteem and is even worse for women, since it impedes make-up application.
Dexyane MeD Palpebral is a medical device, a regulated health product which carries, in accordance with this regulation, the CE 0459 mark. Read the instructions in the leaflet carefully. Not to be used by pregnant or breastfeeding women. Avoid all direct contact with eyes. Ages 3 months and up. Manufacturer: Pierre Fabre Medical Devices. Updated: August 2019. 230769.
