      All about eczema

      Eczema is a common skin condition that can affect babies, children and adults alike. It is characterised by the appearance of skin lesions (red patches, blisters and scabs), developing by very dry skin and flare-ups. Pain and itching that is at times, intense, can have a significant impact on the daily life of those who suffer from eczema.

      There are different forms of eczema, the main three being:
      Atopic eczema or atopic dermatitis: the most common skin disease among children. It can reach all areas of the body, occuring symmetrically, often on the face, creases of joints such as elbows and knees, the arms, and the hands. The itching and resulting pain often cause problems sleeping

      Contact eczema: also very common, it can be caused by allergens (contact of the skin with nickel, jewellery, perfume, preservatives in cosmetics, etc.) or by irritation (contact of the skin with cleaning products, detergents, chemicals, etc.)
      Chronic hand eczema can have multiple causes: atopic, allergic and/or irritant. It's considered to be one of the most common occupational diseases. The professions most affected are those in the metalworking, hairdressing, construction and food processing industries. The skin is rough, irritated, very dry, sometimes even cracked. There are two essential aims when treating any type of eczema: to relieve the inflammation and pain, and to soothe the dryness of the skin.

      • Do not use on more than 30% of the body's surface
      • Ensure the tube is firmly closed after use
      • In case of adverse affects caused by the use of this product, seek medical advice
