      Stress, pollution, hormone imbalance, certain medical treatments, the use of unsuitable hair products can all contribute to the appearance of dandruff. 
      These various factors lead to the proliferation of a yeast called Malassezia furfur which creates an imbalance in the scalp and causes irritation and itching. 
      In this way, two types of dandruff can occur: 
      Dry dandruff: fine, white or greyish. This type does not stick to the scalp and falls spontaneously as "powder" onto the shoulders. Oily dandruff: large, yellowish, oily and thick, stick because of hyperseborrhea of the scalp.
