You might think you're doing no harm, but this highly increases the risk of scarring. There's even a type of acne that dermatologists call "excoriated acne", where there are very few spots but a lot of damage caused by contact with fingernails.     Baby shampoos are adapted to a baby's scalp, which has very little sebum. They are not suitable for adult scalps.
