How to use a hair serum
Tame hair, redensify, style, add shine...hair serums often come with a thousand and one promises. Find out everything you need to know to choose the right serum based on your needs. And of course, we'll show you the right way to apply a serum without weighing down your hair.
Using a hair serum to care for your lengths
Hair serums are quite popular among regenerative products for the ends of the hair. Easy to use, no-rinse, and in a small format, these serums can be used in the morning, and they slip easily into your handbag for access at any time during the day to give your hair a quick boost.
This version of the hair serum is generally used to smooth, tame and add shine to hair.
In terms of ingredients, there are nourishing plant and mineral oils which tame the hair, and hydrating agents. One or two drops of serum is all you need to nourish your lengths without adding weight or grease. These hair serums are versatile and can be used on damp or dry hair, before or after blow-drying. Or just for a quick fix.
Using a hair serum to redensify hair mass from the root
To counteract the effects of hair aging, you have to get to the root of the problem... This means starting with the scalp, where the hair takes root.
This type of hair serum is mainly designed to coat and mechanically increase the hair diameter. Unlike the serum designed to care for lengths, this serum is used on the base of the hair. It can be applied section by section and massaged into the scalp. It then acts in two phases: from the first application, it coats the hair to add instant texture, then with each additional application its active ingredients act at the core of the hair follicle to stimulate growth and protect the hair. This twofold promise is possible thanks to the ingredients with antioxidant anti-aging properties such as ginseng, vitamin B5, vitamin F and albizia.
Choose the right hair care routine
The right application method? A serum can be applied to damp or dry hair, right after shampooing. A hair serum combined with scalp massage has a redensifying effect on the hair. As a result, your hair will be easier to style, with much less breakage.
1/ Apply the serum section by section (5 sections) to dry or damp hair. | 2/ Massage in the serum so that it gently permeates the hair. | 3/ Spread the excess product over the roots scalp and lengths. Then style your hair. |
